I believe in Friendships by Adriana Mendez

I think friendships are important. Everybody needs to have some kind of social life. I am a very sociable person, and I love to be surrounded by people all the time. I think being alone is the worse thing in the world. I realized that I can not be alone for more than 24 hours because I get kind of lonely. You already know I am not from this country, and all of my family and friends are miles away from me in Venezuela. That is where I grew up and where I have most of my good friends. It was after I got here that I realized who my real friends are. I think I am a special person that just loves to be nice to people and be myself, no matter what. Friends, for me, are people that I can trust. This is why I always treat them with respect and this is how I want them to treat me. However, I don’t tolerate hypocrisy. That is the worse thing that can happen in a friendship, and it is also one of the most common reasons they come to an end. I do have really good friends that I can trust in and that made me a better person. Some of them I have known since I was young and others not as long, but this doesn’t really matter. What counts, is the experiences you can have with them. The good and bad memories are always nice to have. In the end, that is how you learn to grow and to be a better person in life. For example my sister is one of my best friends; she is more than that she is my role model. Her name is Daniela and she is always being there for me. When I got in trouble for doing silly stuffs she help me so my parents would not ground me. Daniela is very special for I respect her and I feel she thinks the same way I do. I am her little sister so she has to protect me. After all that is what friends do. This is why I believe in friendships.
